Creative Ways to Make More Sales
Include a blurb on your emails to your eBay customers - such as the shipping notification, or "ask seller a question." Many buyers have never considered selling, or aren't sure where to start. eBay customers are right here, accessible to you! You can include something on your emails like, "Are you a mom who wants to start selling on eBay? Check my About Me page for a great resource to get started."
eBay listings. Same as above, DO NOT USE THE AFFILIATE LINK, but simply direct browsers to your About Me page for "great resources for eBay sellers."
Write a specific blog post about the product, and include your link in the post – you can use the button for your blog picture. Don't have a blog - I bet some of your friends do! Ask them if you can do a guest post. Talk about your store, your eBay business, what you sell, how eBay works for your life and your family, and offer the affiliate links as resources to help others get started or learn more.
Make comments on other blogs relevant to the affiliate product and leave the affiliate link (use html). You can find all hundreds of blogs to visit by using Google BlogSearch. Enter search terms like "sell on eBay, WAHM, work from home, make money from home, SAHM, eBay seller," etc. Be creative!
Forum posts – if the topic applies to the affiliate product, say something positive about the product and leave the link. Try to solve a problem for someone by suggesting the affiliate product as the solution. You can post the affiliate product as an ad on forums -but make sure you post it in the appropriate section. Ask the forum owner if you aren't sure.
Yahoo Groups, or MSN Groups - if someone is looking for a solution to a problem, suggest the affiliate product and leave the link. Example – a mom wants to work from home, suggest eBay and leave a link for the SAHM Guide to help her get started. These groups are also great places to network your own eBay business. Check them out and join some!
Yahoo Answers – answer questions that the affiliate product will apply to. Help solve a problem by suggesting the affiliate product. Example, someone wants to learn more about selling on eBay. Suggest the VIP Library and leave your link.
CraigsList - you can put free ads on CraigsList in any city, not just your own. It is best to put ads for the affiliate product in the Small Business Ad section. CraigsList does not allow you to link directly to eBay, however, you can advertise the affiliate product and ask for readers to eMail you for more information. Also, if putting ads on CraigsList in multiple cities, be sure to word them differently to avoid having them pulled. For more information about using CraigsList for marketing, read this article from Entrepreneur Magazine.
Tell your friends – but don’t spam people you don’t know. Nobody buys from a spammer!
The more places you put your links, the more exposure you will get, and the more commissions you will make.
If you have any questions about setting up the affiliate program, coding your links, creating and posting your buttons, or marketing the affiliate products, please visit the eBay Coach Forum and post your question. We are glad to help you get set up.
